At the age of 19, she released her single for her debut album Here. It went down a storm and received praise from the public and from critics. It reached the top spot at 19th at both Canadian Hot 100 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it as one of the top songs of the year. The was the year she released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of five songs she wrote that made it to the Billboard charts. This particular track was special as it was inspired by her interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners shared their experiences of self-doubt, and her journey to learn to accept herself. Cara is known for infusing the themes of mental health and kindness and self-love in her songs. The music of Cara is directly from her struggle with insomnia and mental illness. In an Reuters interview, she described the album as tumultuous and half accomplished. Therapy was a great help in her growth and now she urges people to try it too. Alessia Cara is a Canadian artist who was born July 11 1996 to parents with Italian descent. Her parents gave her an instrument at barely 10 years old. This sparked her enthusiasm for music. She started covering songs that she liked at the age of thirteen to show the world she had the talent and courage required to become a professional singer. The cover she did, Sweater Weather, was the one that got her attention. EP Entertainment gave her the chance to write and compose her own music.
